Även Rock'n Roll, Country, Blues och jazzlåter är bra musik att dansa bugg till:
Beatles
Chuck Berry
Chubby Checker
Jerry Lee Lewis
Bill Haley & His Comets
This course is suitable for you who already have taken lessons in bugg, waltz and foxtrot at beginners level and would like to learn more. If you are self thaught or have not learned the modern steps in bugg you are instead welcome to our beginners course where we learn the basics more carefully. Once you have taken lessons regularily for at least a couple of semesters your are then welcome to our improver level classes.
Which styles?
All dances change with time and usual gain more movements and become more comfortable and pleasing to
watch. In the last decade or two bugg and foxtrot have gone through an impressive development
resulting in a few new styles.
In this course we will learn the modern style in bugg which is widely adopted in Uppsala and around Sweden since a few years. If you have only danced the old style of bugg you are welcome to "update" your skills at the beginners course.
Foxtrot can be danced in the classical style (resembling waltz) with a beautiful expanded posture,
precise, polished steps and flowing rise and falls or as a more intimate social dance with improvised movements and
an expression unique for each dancer.
"Fox" or "Social foxtrot", "Swedish foxtrot", "fox fusion, "dirty fox", "bachata fox", "kizomba fox", "tango fox", "dynamic fox", "modern fox" etc. This beloved child has many names! We consider all styles of foxtrot as dialects of the same dance and at this course we will focus mostly on the common features in these dialects. Our ambition is to combine great dancing technique with the skills to improvise, maneuver and have fun on the social dance floor.
We will also expand our reportoar of beautiful figures in modern/slow walz so that we can walz around any floor with confidence.
Welcome to the exciting next step!
