Latin American folk dances
Salsa, Zouk, Samba, Son, Merengue, Cha cha Cha, Mambo, Rumba, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Bachata, Forró etc.
The rich Latin American dance and music culture is the result of centries old melting pot of European, Carribean, North American
and African culture influenses.
During the latest decades the Latin American culture has been commersialised and exported all over the world with the help of movies and
cds. Today Salsa is one of the most populare social dances in Sweden and many other countries.
Different dialects of Salsa
There are several different dialects of Salsa and in our courses you will learn the four most common ones:
Cuban, Los Angeles/Cross body style, ON-2 and Rueda de casino.

More than just Salsa
Everywhere where you dance Salsa you can also hear related music such as Zouk, Merengue, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Son, Cumbia, Mambo, Reggaeton etc and all of the "salseros"
(salsa dancers) are expected to also master a couple of other dances. At our Latinmix courses and dropin classes
you can also learn some of the other Latin American dances.
Which level?
We offer courses from Beginners level until Show groups. If you have never danced salsa before or have just tried a little with the friends then you should start with "Salsa - beginners". You will learn the important basics
and can get a taste of both Cuban, Los angeles style and rueda. From the next level, Salsa - 2, you can choose to learn more about one of the styles.
